3 Tips to Ease Your Neck Pain
Chiropractic Care
Neck pain can stop you dead in your tracks. If you notice even a hint of neck pain coming on, it is important to take immediate action to ensure a quick recovery. Neck pain can be brought on by a number of things. From the obvious, like a car accident, to the less obvious like sitting too much.
Regardless of the cause, untreated neck pain typically leads to:
- Chronic stiffness and pain in the neck
- Tenderness in the muscles and tendons
- Migraines and tension headaches
- Limited range of motion
- Tingling or numbness in your arms and hands
No matter what your symptoms, it's important to begin treating it before it gets worse. Here's what you can do:
Rest
Ok this might seem like an obvious this to say, and it also might seem like an unrealistic thing to say at the same time. Most of us do not rest nearly enough! However, if you want to reduce stiffness and soreness to speed up healing, then lie down for a bit to give your neck a break.
Stretch Regularly & Get a Massage
Stretching regularly is a good practice whether you are in pain or not. However, if you do have a stiff neck, stretching will help to provide some temporary relief. Just be careful not to over-stretch. For even deeper relief, I would recommend getting a massage.
Get to a Chiropractor ASAP
Last, but definitely not least, the best way to treat neck pain is to get to a chiropractor. Your chiropractor will get to the root of the problem to avoid it recurring.
