For example, swap the mushroom soup in green bean casserole for low-fat milk, mushrooms, and flour which will ensure less sodium and a lower fat content. When making stuffing, swap whole grain bread for white and when you indulge in sweet potato casserole, aim for a higher potato to marshmallow ratio.
Stay Hydrated
Alcoholic beverages and sugary ciders are popular at holiday get-togethers, but they usually have a lot of calories. Enjoying a few cocktails at your holiday celebration won’t totally derail your health and wellness efforts, but try to drink a glass of water between each drink. You will also want to be sure you are properly hydrated as dehydration can cause you to eat more when your body is actually thirsty.
Head Outdoors
