Here’s what you need to know.

Balance

Did you know balance is an important part of posture? Next time you’re standing up, take a moment and ask yourself these questions. Do you have more weight on one leg than the other or are you distributing your weight evenly? Are your legs crossed, causing your hips to move out of balance? If you aren’t balanced in your posture, your muscles and spine are forced to work overtime to compensate. Whether you’re sitting or standing, pay attention to your posture and make sure your pelvis is aligned. Alignment

Alignment and balance go hand in hand. If your spine is to be well balanced, it needs to be properly aligned. Whether you are sitting down or standing up, hold your head up so you are looking straight ahead with your shoulders slightly back and your hips and knees pointing straight.
