3. Practice Stress Management. We know it is impossible to completely avoid stress, but you can practice stress management skills. As your stress levels increase, the strength of your immune system decreases. When we are under stress, our bodies produce increased amounts of cortisol. Cortisol, a stress hormone, increases both blood sugar and blood pressure levels, which results in a weakened immune system. 4. Get Your Nervous System Checked. Your nervous system (comprised of the brain and spine) controls every organ system, organ, tissue, and cell in your body.
